A2P 10DLC Registration Cost: Every Fee, Explained
A brand fee, a review fee and a small monthly fee, plus your phone number. Correcting a rejected brand is free; filing a new one is charged again.
Updated . Fees and wording match what Out Nurture files.
A2P 10DLC registration costs $4.50 for the brand, $15.00 to review the messaging registration, and $1.50 a month for a low-volume registration, plus about $1.15 a month per phone number. For a small business that's $22.15 the first month and $2.65 a month after.
Every fee
These are the fees as charged to our own account (Twilio US SMS pricing). Other texting providers set their own.
| Fee | Amount | When it's charged |
|---|---|---|
| Brand registration | $4.50 | Once, when the brand is filed, approved or not |
| Secondary vetting (optional) | $41.50 | Once per brand, unless the filing skips it |
| Messaging registration review | $15.00 | When the registration is reviewed |
| Low-volume registration | $1.50 a month | While the registration is active |
| Standard registration | $10.00 a month | While the registration is active |
| Phone number | about $1.15 a month | Per number |
Low volume or standard
Low volume is enough for up to 2,000 message segments a day to T-Mobile customers, and it doesn't need secondary vetting. Standard costs more each month and only pays off with a vetting score high enough to raise that limit, which matters for businesses sending thousands of texts a day.
How not to pay twice
- Correct a rejected brand; don't file a new one. A new brand is charged $4.50 again.
- Edit and resubmit a rejected messaging registration; don't delete it. The review fee is charged once per registration, at its first decision, and resubmitting keeps it from being charged twice (Twilio). Editing a refused registration in place isn't generally available through the API yet, so some providers, Out Nurture included, file a corrected registration after a carrier rejection as a new one, which is a new fee.
- Check before you submit. A registration refused at intake, before review, isn't charged. One refused in review is, so fix the opt-in, the policy pages and the samples first.
- Suspension doesn't stop the carrier fees. While a registration is suspended, the texting provider keeps paying its monthly fee and its numbers' fees, and one still suspended after 30 days can be deleted (Twilio). Out Nurture doesn't charge you the registration's monthly fee while it's suspended.
