SMS Privacy Policy and Terms for A2P 10DLC, With Templates

Two public pages on your website, one saying phone numbers and texting consent are never shared, one with the texting terms, both linked from your opt-in.

Updated . Fees and wording match what Out Nurture files.

Every messaging registration links two pages on your website: a privacy policy and SMS terms. Carriers open both by hand. Most rejections here are one missing sentence, or a link that doesn't open.

What carriers look for

  • Two public pages that open for anyone: no login, not a PDF or a file download, each titled as what it is ("Privacy Policy", "SMS Terms & Conditions"), each naming your business.

  • Pages that are yours. Put them on your website. A page from a policy service is fine when it names your business and your site links to it; a link to another business's page is refused.

  • The privacy policy says texting data is never shared. A general promise about "personal information" isn't enough; name the texting data, as this sentence does:

We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

  • The privacy policy also says what you collect and how you use it, "Message frequency varies" and "Message and data rates may apply".

  • The SMS terms carry eight things: your business name, what the texts are about, how often they come, "Message and data rates may apply", how to get help (HELP and a real email or phone number), how to stop (STOP), that carriers aren't liable for delayed or undelivered messages, and a link to your privacy policy.

  • Both links under the opt-in checkbox, and the same two links in your registration.

How to fix it in Out Nurture

  1. Send the section below to whoever edits your website. It has both pages written out with your business name, ready to publish. Out Nurture can make a link for it that you forward as is.
  2. When the pages are live, open Set up texting and use the button on the rejection card. It says what the correction costs.
  3. Under Policy pages, paste the two links into "Privacy policy URL" and "SMS terms and conditions URL".
  4. Click "Check my registration". It reads both pages the way carriers do and says what's still missing.
  5. Resubmit. The review is up to 5 business days.

For your web team

Forward this section to whoever edits your website, with your business name in place of [Your business name].

[Your business name] needs two pages on its website before carriers will let it text its leads: a privacy policy and SMS terms. Carriers open both by hand.

What to do

  • Publish each as its own public page on the business's website: no login, not a PDF, the page title as its first heading.
  • Fill in the support email where it says to.
  • If the site already has a privacy policy, add the "SMS and mobile information" section below to it instead of replacing it, and remove any line saying phone numbers or opt-in data may be shared with partners for marketing.
  • Link both pages directly under the texting checkbox on the form where people give their phone number, not only in the footer.
  • Send the two page addresses back to [Your business name] so they can be pasted into the registration.
